“Game Update 6.1 will include a small story beat around the size of Hearts and Minds. Charles finally explained what this means after he hinted at it on the December Developer Live Stream: “Thought I’d hop in and add a bit about the story elements in our upcoming releases.”

The game throws so many equipment sets at you while you do story mode at this stage as to make mod vendors all but useless for your ton's gear. Not a day after Keith Kanneg’s first post for 2020, creative director Charles Boyd backed him up by posting another “yellow text” (dev post) on the forums.Ĭharles’ post is more focused on the story development for this year: Honestly, unless your companion uses a different main stat than you, you shouldn't need to spend any comms at all after level 50 until you hit 60. Also, if you do SOR, you will come out with a set of modified gear good enough to easily get you through Ziost. (Low drop rate but can be gotten.) If all else fails, you can just buy them from the space port vendor using ziost and planetary comms. And both the implants and ear piece are loot drops from the elite gold mobs. Ziost all but hands you a 190 set (except implants, main hand, and ear piece) on a silver platter.

So it is quite viable to upgrade your gear at the fleet level 55 vendor (level 172 gear) and not have to bother upgrading it again until after completing Ziost.

I have done all the +55 level content including Ziost using level 55 PVP gear only. 12XP was invented so you could skip them, and this method just takes that issue a little further. I realize skipping out on Ilum and half of Makeb is skipping content, but these are the same for everyone just like planetary quests, and if you've done them already, kind of in the same category. Now your choice is whether to finish up Rishi and go on to Yavin earning zero XP, or whether to wait for the Xpac to retain your advantage. If you're not doing Ops, where 192 gear can be found your 178/186 is plenty strong enough to get you through to 60.

Rishi drops 178 gear toward the end, but once again, it's bound and if you're already there, useless. It's bound and can be sold to a vendor for pretty good prices. The prelude flashpoints drop gear in the 160's, which if you've done this is useless to you. That's expensive to make, so I've just swapped out barrels and hilts at this point, which is plenty to get you to level 60, which you will attain while still on Rishi. By the time you get through the four flashpoints of the Prelude to Revan you ought to be well into level 57 and at 58 you qualify for 186 gear. People have claimed they got to 57 this way, but I have never done it and if you do the math, it's highly improbable that you could do it.Īt any rate at level 56 you qualify for 178 gear, which you can make if you're a crafter. You'll not only get to level 55 you'll get to level 56 because all those finished quests give you the 12XP + 25% so you're talking approximately 15XP for those quests. So save the class quests that give you the most XP and creep up to where you are about to get to level 55, then turn on a +25% XP boost (which DOES work on 12XP) and accept all your quest rewards at once.

Bear in mind that you get XP for simply going to new places or killing mobs. You can save three of them before you are forced to accept one in order to do another quest. As you get close to level 55 do not accept your quest rewards. Head to Makeb and continue with the 12XP until you hit level 55, where it stops.īut here's a trick. And you don't need to do Ilum, either, which is just a Hoth, Jr. If you've finished Chapter 3 and Corellia you don't need to worry about spoilers.
